Here at Northampton Valley Country Club, we host weddings at our Bucks County, PA-based country club at all times of the year. Although most couples choose to have their weddings in the spring or summer, many choose the fall or winter season. And, you can rest assured that these weddings have been just as breathtaking as the ones we have hosted during the warmer months of the year!
Most, if not all late-fall and winter weddings are indoors, so they often call for you to send out more formal invitations. If you want to give off a “formal” impression, consider sending out thicker invitations (even frosted Plexiglas invites) in sturdy envelopes.
Greens and reds, or browns and oranges certainly reflect the season, but you shouldn’t overdo this cliché color combo. Aside from colors like the greens and reds, you could choose white and silver to make your wedding look unique. You can also opt for a white velvet aisle runner instead of the usual red.
Amaryllis, calla lilies, and red roses are the winter flowers that many couples choose. However, if you want to do something different, you might want to try fuller flowers like soft ranunculuses and white hydrangeas.
The Cocktail Hour
Ditch you favorite cold cocktail drinks or serve them with some tasty and warm winter cocktails. You can serve up some warm white hot chocolate, spiced egg nog, and, of course, apple cider.
You can’t go wrong with a wedding cake that has a green or red ribbon topped with roses, but there is so much more that bakers can do these days. For instance, you could have a white cake dusted with edible silver powder to make it look like ice crystals are dropping off your cake.
There are so many things you can do to make your winter wedding wonderful and, most of all, unique! To learn more about the winter weddings we’ve hosted at our Bucks County venue or everything you need to do to have an unforgettable wedding, don’t hesitate to call or email us!
