There are many color combinations to choose from for your holiday wedding. As you may be aware the simplest color scheme for a Christmas wedding is the traditional red and green. If you choose to go with these colors the church, venue, or reception hall may already have decorations up in these colors, making your need to decorate these locations fuss-free and less costly. Other attractive color combinations you may also choose from for your holiday Christmas wedding include: blue and silver, gold and forest green, black, burgundy, and silver or gold, and champagne and red. Once you have chosen your color combination choose one color as the main focal point, and the secondary colors as accents throughout the bouquets, ceremony decorations, and reception decorations. If you wish to incorporate an even stronger Christmas theme, you could choose one aspect of the holiday or season to focus on when decorating. You may also choose more than one Christmas theme such as snowmen, snowflakes, reindeer, penguins, candy canes or peppermints, gingerbread men or houses, and angels. The choices are endless so have fun with it. Begin your Christmas theme as guests arrive to the ceremony and reception. You can have a lighted Christmas tree at your reception and large wreaths hanging with your wedding colors on the front doors as guests enter. Other decorating ideas include placing miniature white lights in large Christmas trees at the front of the ceremony venue, using an aisle runner with silver or gold flecks, or even poinsettias, and using winter wedding flowers of your choice at the front of the altar. You may also plan to have a large mistletoe arrangement in the exit doorway for guests to enjoy as they leave the ceremony venue and head to the reception.
