Everyone should remember St. Patrick’s Day when they were little. Most of the time, it was a holiday celebrated by children with eating those delicious cinnamon, sugary, cream cheese and coconut filled Irish potatoes. What’s more, schools often celebrated the occasion by encouraging students to wear green. However, how is it that most adults celebrate—by hitting the local pub up of course! For those adults who don’t want to go out this year but still want to celebrate the occasion, they can do it by throwing a St. Patrick’s Day/Irish-themed party. Throwing a St. Patrick’s Day party of course means that you are going green—green in the sense that what you are wearing, decorating with, and eating (as well as drinking) should be green! Now, what are three great ways to make sure your party is still Adult-oriented but is still a lot of fun? Check out some of our ideas below and let us know what you think!
As a company that is known for organizing wedding ceremonies in Bucks County, PA, we have seen our share of themed weddings, events, and banquets. So, the first thing we suggest doing is making sure that your party is totally decked out to represent the occasion. This doesn’t mean that you have to go to the nearest Party City and buy EVERY SINGLE CLICHE decoration; you can do simple things such buy some green streamers, as well as purchase some shamrock-shaped and green party lights (especially if the party will go on into the night!)
Being that this St. Patrick’s Day party is met for adults, a host or hostess should certainly consider having a beer tasting or St. Patrick’s Day Happy Hour. Also, you can spice up this segment of your party by making happy hour sized food, and purchasing some Irish beers (although they certainly don’t have to be!)
Last but not least, we should address the attire… Again, green is your best bet for this occasion, but if you feel like you are really in the spirit you can buy a costume—the best one being that of a leprechaun! Or, you can even sport a hat and some “Kiss Me, I’m Irish” pins on what you are wearing.
With St. Patrick’s Day less than a month away, it is time to get into the party planning spirit. If you are having a party this year, MAY THE LUCK OF THE IRISH BE WITH YOU! :-)
And from all of us here at Northampton Valley Country Club, have a Great St. Patrick’s Day!!!
